This live educational session, including interactive Q&A, is for parents, caregivers, as well as adolescents and young women, with disabilities.  Our hosts, Lesley Breech, Director of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (PAG) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and Lisa Reebals, PAG specialty Nurse Practitioner, with Kara Bendle, our moderator and Gynecologic Specialty Nurse at Cincinnati Children's Hospital are eager to discuss menstrual concerns and medical management options.  Adolescent girls and young women may struggle with managing menses and associated symptoms, preventing them fully engaging in school or meaningful activities.  The CCHMC PAG team is excited to host this live event to answer important but difficult questions.

                                                


Description

A live educational session on menstrual management topics for patients, parents, and care providers of girls with disabilities.  This live Question and Answer session will provide education and options to improve the quality of life for patients who may struggle with routine menstrual management.

Dr. Breech is the Director of the Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). She has been a leader within the field and an advocate for patients and families.  She is interested in options to manage menses in adolescents and innovation in the delivery of interdisciplinary pediatric healthcare. 

Lisa Reebals, MSN, APRN, CPNP
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati OH

Lisa Reebals is a pediatric nurse practitioner with the Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.  She has been involved in adolescent health for over 25 years and has a background in many areas of this field, including reproductive health and school based health care.  She is interested in menstrual management and advocacy for adolescents with disabilities.

Kara Bendle, RN
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati OH

Kara Bendle is a specialty gynecology nurse focusing on coordinating interdisciplinary care for the Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at Cincinnati Children's Medical Center Hospital. She is interested in nursing leadership and the development of patient centered education materials.
