Objectives

  • Identify best practice for the evaluation of a post-menarchal patient with prolonged or irregular bleeding with her periods.       
  • Identify best practice for initial treatment and referral for a female patient with iron deficiency anemia.
  • Identify best practice for monitoring  and referring a post-menarchal girl with a simple or hemorrhagic cyst, and strategies of how to manage in the primary care setting.
  • Identify best practice for managing and referring postpubertal female patients with hirsutism or lower abdominal pain due to ovarian cyst.
